With the mintage of only 199 pieces worldwide, the “Moravian Star – Dresden Frauenkirche” is one of the rarest high-end 1-kilo silver coins in the world! The exceptional combination of the highest art of coin minting and the fascinating sparkle of the giant Swarovski crystal makes this coin a timeless precious collector’s piece. Each coin bears an individual number on the edge.
The obverse of the Cook Islands coin traditionally bears the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Along the rim of the silver coin, there are the following inscriptions: the Queen’s name, the face value of the coin and its issuing country.
The coin is accented with a 20-point Moravian Star Swarovski crystal fabulously shimmering on the high relief gilded and colored surface. An iconic symbol of the Christmas season, the star takes its English name from the Moravian Church, originating in Moravia. Although the star originated in the church's schools as a geometry lesson, it was soon adopted throughout the Moravian Church as an Advent symbol. The reverse is elaborately decorated with the elements of Dresden Frauenkirche, or the Church of Our Lady, the signature landmark of Dresden with a 1000-year history.
